Just moving in to a new home.

We have had quite a summer. My ice cream truck broke down three times in August, and we were forced to move out of the duplex we lived in for 4 years in July. We spent August living in an RV in the back yard of a friend. All of our stuff was in storage. Since the ice cream truck broke down, the income was way down so on the first of September we were locked out of our stuff because there wasn't enough to go for all the bills. We finally got into our storage on the 20th of September, bless the lord for that, and I have been bringing carloads home and trying to sort through them as much as I can.

My storage shed is about 2/3 empty and my garage is full. I am slowly getting things unpacked and sorted between carting the kids around and doing homework help and all those other motherly daily responsibilities.

It seems like everything we own of any value is currently in the pawn shop August was a really tough month.  We all sacraficed. The kids contributed their Wii, their ipods and dsi's and I pawned my sewing machine, serger and kindle.  I did get my main sewing machine out last month.

I have more than one, but that is a story for another post. :o)

Anyhow, we had taken another one of my machines to the pawn shop but they didn't wan't it, it was too old.

But they had a machine there that they were thinking about THROWING AWAY because they couldn't sell it. They said for 10 dollars it was mine. I saw that it was a singer, and I said I really didn't like that brand. But when I looked at it closer I discovered it was a Singer Futura  CE 200. Yep an embroidery machine. I bought it.

However it doesn't have the embroidery attachment or the software. It has been interesting seeing how different sewing machine salespeople respond when I ask how much it would cost to get the missing parts.

More about that in another post, I have to go make the kids some dinner. :o)

Creations from old blue jeans, what I do in the winter time.

I drive an ice cream truck during the spring summer and sometimes fall. This fall I am not because my truck is in need of a new head gasket, so my season ended early this year. :o(

However, I plan to use the umpteen boxes of old blue jeans to create purses, bags, anything I can imagine and sell them online this winter. This blog is the beginning of that adventure.

So please subscribe and follow along. Soon I will be adding a picture of my first blue jean creation, my ice cream truck. Last spring I painted it to look like denim, it is really cool.
